BORN AND R AISED in Bahrain, Dr. Alderazi learned early in life that his path was to pursue science and opportunities to help others. "Medicine is scientifically engaging and allows you to have a profound impact on patients and families," Dr. Alderazi said. "You can ease discomfort and implement changes to improve their quality of life." Dr. Alderazi began his pursuit of medicine in Dublin, Ireland, where he attended the National University of Ireland and earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland before relocating to the United States. "I always knew I wanted to come to the United States," Dr.Alderazi said. "ere are more opportunities to subspecialize in the area of medicine that interests you most." After completing his internship in internal medicine at Boston University Medical Center, Dr.Alderazi completed his adult neurology residency at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, and fellowships in Houston, Miami and Rutgers, N.J. At UMC, Dr. Alderazi specializes in cerebral vascular disease with a focus on stroke and neuroendovascular treatments.
