Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute | 5 Dear colleague, ank you for your interest in the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute. We are a major referral center in Salt Lake City caring for heart patients locally, and from states throughout the Intermountain West. We have carefully structured our services into patient-focused specialty programs, each targeted to a different form of heart disease. ese programs integrate experience from across the cardiovascular disciplines here at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute. Patients benefit from a coordinated team of providers who use shared expertise, along with a focus on evidence-based medicine, to provide optimal care plans, advanced procedures, research opportunities, and support for lifestyle changes. We have coalesced an exceptional physician team, including national leaders in their fields, who continue to focus on providing compassionate, patient-focused care. I feel privileged to work side-by-side with these physicians, specializing in cardiology, heart failure, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiovascular critical care medicine. Our physicians are joined by an extraordinary team of advanced practice clinicians, registered nurses, technicians, and medical assistants. Our patients also have access to dietitians, social workers, and financial coordinators. e breadth of our team is a reflection of our commitment to addressing optimal management of all our patients including rehabilitation, lifestyle, prevention, and wellness. Finally, research and innovation is critical to our clinical practice. We encourage our physicians to participate in research and quality improvement projects and have ongoing efforts in many areas, including cardiovascular genetics, catheter-based procedures, and improving medical informatics. ese projects consistently enhance our patient care and improve our ability to prevent, detect, and treat cardiovascular disease. I invite you to turn these pages and get to know us better. Please reach out to us for consultations, referrals, and collaboration in research and quality improvement efforts. Sincerely, Donald L.
