Having an ongoing relationship with an OB/GYN is one of the most important ways a woman can take care of herself. Your life is busy. It's easy to forget to make a checkup appointment with your gynecologist. Or maybe you put your own women's health needs on the back burner to take care of your family's health needs first. One of the ways Huron Regional Medical Center works to keep our friends and neighbors as healthy as they can be is to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). Our latest CHNA showed that women in our area are: • 7.8 percent below average in cervical cancer screening and • 12.9 percent below average in having regular OB/GYN visits Reminding you to have regular screenings for women's health issues is one of many ways your OB/GYN can help you receive the preventive care that can help you stay healthy. She can also discover any problems at an early stage, when they are most treatable. An OB/GYN can also counsel you about having a healthy lifestyle and avoiding health risks, and help you make decisions about your reproductive health. Huron Regional Medical Center now has two OB/GYNs. To make an appointment with Sara Castellanos, DO, or Elyse Brock, MD, visit www.huronregional.org/find-a-doc.
