Get Well So on Care From Just as its name implies, Sturgis Hospital's new FastCare clinic means you can access health care in a hurry. A new location for AM&PMcare provides patients in Constantine with an additional option for nonemergency medical care. AM&PMcare, which expanded its hours in Constantine in early 2016, provides urgent care treatment options for patients when the emergency room is unnecessary but an appointment with a primary care provider isn't available. By visiting AM&PMcare, patients can access a provider—either with an appointment or by walking in—and get the care they need. Coming to Constantine "We've seen a lot of success with our AM&PMcare service offering in the Sturgis community," says Wilma Litzau, Director of Occupational Health and Wellness at Sturgis Hospital. "To meet demand and better serve our community, we've expanded these services to Constantine as well." Much like the other clinic, AM&PMcare at Constantine is equipped to handle: • Cold or flu symptoms • Flu vaccines • Physicals for sports or work • Annual wellness exams • Sprains, strains, or minor lacerations The clinic extended its hours so doors are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. "By remaining open for additional hours, we've expanded our services to those who may work during traditional physician office hours," Litzau says. "It just puts us one step closer to creating a healthier community for Constantine." Walk-in and scheduled appointments are available. Call 269-659-6516 to learn more. Holly Long, LPN, and Kristi Smith, PA AM&PMcare A.M. to P.M. PM care AM & EARLIER THIS YEAR, a FastCare retail health clinic opened its doors inside of Meijer at 408 W. South St.—offering a convenient and economical healthcare option for those in our community. "We live in an age where people want things faster, without sacrificing quality," says Jo Hagood, CMPE, BA, Vice President of Physician Practice Management for Sturgis Hospital. "Because of this, retail medicine is really the wave of the future, and I believe Sturgis is leaps and bounds ahead when it comes to serving our community in this way." Covering the Basics One benefit of the new FastCare is that it focuses on a smaller portion of acute care, such as treating cold, flu, and urinary tract infections and performing physicals, but the clinic doesn't handle lacerations, sprains, or major respiratory issues. By avoiding these more complex issues, the clinic can prevent patient bottlenecks and the wait times associated with them. "Our clinic has been extremely successful thus far," Hagood says. "For a flat rate of $75 [insurance co-pays apply], people can get the care they need without having to make an appointment or endure lengthy wait times." To learn more, stop by our Sturgis Hospital FastCare clinic located inside Meijer or visit www.SturgisHospital.com. 3 S T U RG I S H O S P I TA L | Caring for the Community Annual Report 2016
