I hope your new year is off to a wonderful start. February is National Cancer Prevention Month, and in this issue, we pay tribute to the many hard-working volunteers of the CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Cancer Center who provide compassionate care to our patients and their families. Their generous gift of service is a tremendous support to our nurses and providers and helps to ensure the people of northern New Mexico continue to have access to exceptional cancer care. In this issue, we also explore the exciting shift that is taking place at CHRISTUS St. Vincent as we continue on our journey providing a culture of world-class care. Since empowering our nurses, physicians and other and providers to lead the way in process improvement, their remarkable string of successes is proving that no one is more passionate about the quality of care our patients receive than the front-line providers who care for them each day. I also want to share the very good news with you that our construction and remodel project is ahead of schedule! We anticipate our new private-room wing to be completed later this year. The new wing will welcome you with a spacious main entrance and 36 state-of-the-art private rooms. These rooms will immediately be put to use as we begin to renovate semi-private rooms to new rooms within the main hospital that will be as accommodating and comfortable for our patients and families as those in the new wing.
