WELCOME, DR. MUELLER The staff and surgeons at Twin Cities Spine Center proudly welcome Benjamin Mueller, MD, PhD, to their specialty spine practice. Dr. Mueller earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota, where he also completed his orthopedic surger y residency. He went on to complete a spine surger y fellowship at the Norton Leatherman Spine Center, and he has completed his board certification. He has been actively practicing since 2012. Dr. Mueller sees both adult and pediatric patients for cer vical, thoracic and lumbar spine conditions. His special interests include scoliosis, spondylolis - thesis, stenosis, tumors and disc replace- ment. Dr. Mueller is fluent in English and German. He sees patients at his clinics in St. Paul, Vadnais Heights and Burnsville. MINNEAPOLIS HEART INSTITUTE PHYSICIAN RECEIVES AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY TOP HONOR Steven M. Bradley, MD, MPH, FACC, has been awarded the 2017 Douglas P. Zipes Distinguished Young Scientist Award by the American College of Cardiology in honor of contributions to the cardiovascular profession. He will be recognized for these achievements March 19, during the ACC's 66th Annual Scientific Session in Washington, DC. "I'm truly honored and more than a bit surprised and over whelmed by the award," Dr. Bradley says. "To me, this award is a tribute to the collaborative and innovative environment of which I've been privileged and excited to be a par t." FAIRVIEW SOUTHDALE HOSPITAL RECEIVES COMPREHENSIVE STROKE CENTER CERTIFICATION We're proud to share that Fair view Southdale Hospital has recently been cer - tified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by DNV GL Healthcare. This reflects the highest level of competence for treatment of serious stroke events. NEUROSURGEON ROHAN LALL, MD, JOINS FAIRVIEW SPINE AND BRAIN CLINIC Rohan Lall, MD, joins the Fair view Spine and Brain Clinic to provide neurosurgi- cal ser vices to patients, specializing in endoscopic skull-base surger y, brain tumor neurosurger y, minimally invasive spine surger y and complex spine surger y. Dr. Lall recently completed a fellowship in endoscopic skull surger y and minimally invasive neurosurger y at New York Head and Neck Institute. THE MINNESOTA ACADEMY OF FAMILY PHYSICIANS SELECTED JULIE MAYERS BENSON, MD, OF STAPLES AS THE 2017 FAMILY PHYSICIAN OF THE YEAR This award is presented annually to a family physician who represents the highest ideals of the specialty of family medicine, including caring, comprehen - sive medical ser vice, community involve- ment and ser vice as a role model, a news release stated. The award has been given annually since 1981.
