in the healthcare
industry indicates
more patients are
being referred
to doctors and
hospitals by their
friends and family
members, rather
than by a primary care provider. is
change is part of the larger evolution of
healthcare in a time when we are more
mobile than ever and have more choice
about where we spend our money. As
word of mouth grows in terms of choosing
a facility for your care, patient satisfaction
becomes even more vital.
We know that patients value respect and
a personal connection with their healthcare
provider. Here at UMC Health System,
our culture hinges on patient satisfaction,
as is evidenced in our motto, "Service is

much more powerful than any marketing
we could do, we need to ensure that
patients are leaving our care with the
most positive experience possible.

your patients. Studies show that if patients
have an effective conversation with
their physicians, they are more likely to
understand their care plan and experience
