REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM Back by popular demand: Bill Scruggs, black belt in hapkido, a Madison County Deputy Sheriff Reservist, a certified NRA Pistol Instructor and a licensed Professional Counselor, will teach you how to create layers of safety in your life to protect yourself and your family from today's criminals. By attending the Refuse to be a Victim® crime prevention and personal safety seminar, you will get the tools you need to develop your own personal safety strategies, including information on: the psychology of the criminal mind, mental preparedness, home and phone security, personal and technological security, and more! CITYWIDE STROKE CONNECTION A monthly support group for stroke survivors, family members and caregivers to connect and share experiences, information and advice. Held at 2 p.m. on the first Friday of each month at Methodist Specialty Care Center at One Layfair Drive in Flowood. This is a FREE event with no RSVP required. Refreshments will be served.
