KentuckyOne Health 200 Abraham Flexner Way Louisville, KY 40202 This publication in no way seeks to serve as a substitute for professional medical care. Consult your doctor before undertaking any form of medical treatment or adopting any exercise program or dietary guidelines. It has been my great good fortune to hold forth on this planet for some three quarters of a century, interacting with people from nearly every background imaginable. In all those years, I have never encountered a more dedicated and professional team than the one I was privileged to have by my side at the Rudd Heart and Lung Center at Jewish Hospital. Mere words fail me in my feeble attempt to express my thanks and admiration to the folks who shepherded me through the worst six days of my life." Your help and the help of your team kept my beautiful son safe. I can never thank you enough for the wonderful treatment he received and the compassion shown to my family and myself. There will never be adequate words to express my gratitude for the healing and protection you provided my son, and the tolerance, understanding and patience you had with his mother. The 1 South team was amazing, never showing frustration, always kind and patient. It is so important that you and your team understand, you didn't just help him. He is surrounded by a family that would be forever broken without him. I will never forget the compassion shown to us during one of the most stressful and heartbreaking times of our lives. All the techs who kept him safe will forever hold a special place in my heart. My mother said it best, 'They are simply angels. We can never thank them enough for what they have done.' Our angels are at Our Lady of Peace." A doctor at Saint Joseph Berea ordered a CAT scan with contrast for my husband. The scan showed that he had blood clots in both lungs. The doctor called him at night and told him he needed to go to the hospital and be admitted. The doctor stressed that it was serious and could not wait until the next day. I want to thank the doctor for taking his time away from the offi ce to ensure his patient was getting the immediate help he needed. There are so many good, positive things to say about the ICU folks. The night nurse immediately set things up and started all the medications my husband needed. She said that I could stay the night and got a recliner and blankets for me. The three of us found out that we had a common interest. It helped take some of the stress and worry away for a few moments for both my husband and me. The nurse who arrived the next morning – what a wonderful nurse and person she is! Attentive, effi cient and kind are just a few words that describe her. Her assistants were wonderful, too. The three of them have a very good working relationship and that just fl ows into the ICU. We felt very lucky in the doctor on staff that week. He was thorough, knowledgeable, a good listener and took the time to explain things to us. Let everyone know how thankful we both are that they were there when my husband needed them. Saint Joseph Berea is very fortunate to have each and every one of you."
