Fighting for Healthier Lives, One Lecture at a Time When it comes to staying healthy, knowledge is power. The more you know about ways to protect your body, the better your chances of maintaining lifelong health will be. That’s why Texas Health established the Advances in Medicine series. These events are open to the community and feature Texas Health physicians who speak on health topics that matter to you. From informing you about the area’s latest health innovations to sharing ways you can avoid serious health concerns, each lecture presents vital information to enable you to protect your health. The series also educates the community about key clinical advances that enable physicians on the Texas Health hospital medical staffs to offer quality care. For more information about free upcoming lectures at a Texas Health hospital near you, visit TexasHealth.org/Advances or call 1-877-THR-WELL (1-877-847-9355). On the Go With SilverSneakers If you’re looking for a way to exercise, learn about your health and stay healthy, then look no further than SilverSneakers. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas Fitness Center introduced the SilverSneakers® Fitness Program this spring as a way to encourage Medicare-eligible and Group retirees to take an active role in their health. Members of the program can use the center’s fitness equipment— including free weights, stationary cycles and treadmills— while also accessing SilverSneakers signature fitness classes. The classes, which include everything from cardio to muscle strengthening, are taught by certified instructors and designed specifically for the needs of older adults. To learn more about the SilverSneakers Fitness Program at Texas Health Dallas Fitness Center, call 214-345-7074 or visit TexasHealth.org/DallasFitness.
