STEPHANIE KRUTA, BSN, MSN, OPERATING ROOM MANAGER AT CHI MERCY HEALTH AND RECIPIENT OF THE MARCH 2017 CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY AWARD Each year, CHI Mercy Health's Corporate Responsibility Program Committee recognizes employees who go above and beyond. For approximately 10 years, the Corporate Responsibility Program Committee at CHI Mercy Health has awarded the Corporate Responsibility Award to sta members who exemplify our values and work tirelessly to ensure the hospital is in compliance with federal regulations. "To me, this award means I'm paying attention to the details necessary to run my department in the most ethical and accountable way possible," says Stephanie Kruta, BSN, MSN, Operating Room Manager at CHI Mercy Health, the March 2017 recipient. "This award recognizes our department's integrity when it comes to billing practices and protecting our patients' personal information." Stephanie's department is tasked with billing patients appropriately for procedures and the time spent in recovery. "On a daily basis, department managers are expected to review the charges their department sends to our revenue cycle folks to be led for payment," says Cindy Fischer, Corporate Responsibility Ocer at CHI Mercy Health. "Stephanie ensures this information is correct and out the door in a timely manner." Cindy points to Stephanie's diligence, eciency, and attention to detail as key aspects of her performance.
