Over the past few months, we've invested heavily in new imaging technologies to ensure that the services we provide are constantly evolving and improving, so you can get high-quality care in your community. Our new 4-D ultrasound provides parents-to-be with incredibly clear, detailed images of their babies' faces, hands and feet, and this imaging is available to anyone in the community – not just established KDH patients. Detail and clarity were also priorities when we upgraded to a new combination positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) device. The new scanner offers the same 3-D capabilities we have offered in the past but with improved clarity that gives radiologists a more thorough, detailed view of images, in less time. CT scans are also used at the KDH Cancer Treatment Center in the form of stereotactic body radiation therapy, an advanced form of cancer treatment that utilizes CT scans to deliver radiation therapy directly to a tumor, sparing the surrounding healthy tissue. Finally, we're happy to announce that our low-dose CT lung cancer screenings, accredited by the American College of Radiology, are now approved by Medicare for patients who qualify, to detect lung cancer in its early stages. At KDH, we care about our community. Our imaging upgrades are just another example of our dedication to providing important, potentially lifesaving care close to home. Wishing you wellness, Carol Dozier President and CEO of King's Daughters' Health 2 FALL 2017 // www.kdhmadison.org ON THE COVER: Edward Kubek, MD, general and plastic and reconstructive surgeon at King's Daughters' Health
