MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Friends, Since 1987, our Children's Hospital has been a place where broken bones are healed, premature babies are cared for and sent home with their families, and cancer patients celebrate remission —a place where no child is turned away, regardless of the family's ability to pay. Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital, Navicent Health gives hope for a healthy future to every patient we treat. With a proven track record of providing outstanding treatment from caregivers who recognize the important differences between children and adults, we are faced with the need to replace the current facility. Children are not small adults; their healthcare needs are different and are constantly changing. It is increasingly difficult to retrofit this outdated facility to meet our children's needs. erefore, Navicent Health has committed to building a new, state-of-the-art Children's Hospital tower of more than 100,000 square feet. is new tower will be connected to the existing hospital, which will allow us to leverage the 60,000 square feet of space we currently occupy. Every detail of the new facility has been designed with children in mind. e space will include a new Pediatric Surgical Suite, a modern Pediatric Emergency Center, a two-floor Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Radiolog y and Imaging Services designed specifically for children, as well as a renovation of the General Pediatrics floor and the Pediatric Critical Care Unit. Our vision for this new facility is a matter of mission for the children who visit our hospital 45,000 times each year. e new Children's Hospital will be a tribute to the extraordinary dedication and accomplishments of its physicians and employees. But more importantly, it will be a welcoming place for families facing their hardest days—a place where exceptional care will be skillfully delivered in an environment that makes every child feel safe and comforted. ank you for joining us in making the dream of a state-of-the-art Children's Hospital a reality. Each gi invested in the children of today will benefit our community for generations to come. With the generosity of our community, and partners like Beverly Knight Olson and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, we will continue to build on our legacy of exceptional pediatric care the children of central and south Georgia have known and trusted for 30 years in our new Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital, Navicent Health. With much gratitude, Dreams of tomorrow made possible today! Opening 2019 Dr. Ninfa M. Saunders, FACHE President & CEO Navicent Health NAVICENTHEALTH.ORG/FOUNDATION | Impact | 3
