In 2017, Crouse — one of only two New York State Department of Health-designated Stroke Centers in Onondaga County — celebrated a milestone. For the seventh straight year, the hospital received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines–Stroke Gold Plus Quality Award. This recognition is given to hospitals that consistently comply with evidence-based standards and quality measures, and speaks to the commitment the Crouse team has made to providing the highest level of cardiac care. Our interior feature focuses on the health legal practice of CCBLaw in Syracuse. Cohen Compagni Beckman Appler & Knoll PLLC (CCBLaw) has the largest, most experienced health law team in Central New York focusing on the needs of healthcare practitioners. The recent integration of Wood & Smith P.C. expands the firm's expertise and reach even further. The ever-evolving, heavily regulated nature of health care makes this legal specialty one of the most challenging. CCBLaw attorneys have provided counsel to regional physi- cians for more than 40 years.
