In Sherborn, a family's 19th century barn and workshop offered a unique opportunity to transform it into a retreat with a pastoral
view of nature in the back.
"Because of the condition of the building, we needed to install new structural beams made with custom eastern white pine timbers.
The client's goal was to have a retreat/art studio, so our focus was on creating recreational space. With the owner's vision to match
their antique farmhouse, they opted for wide plank pine floors, a soap stone sink to create flower arrangements and reclaimed pieces
such as the oval window and an oak counter in the bathroom to accommodate guests. To remain true to the theme of its origins, we
installed traditional divided light windows," Mike says.
Flooring and beams milled and installed by Hull Forest Products.
