In this issue, we spotlight several Northeast Ohio physicians who have turned that passion into successful patient-centered practices offering specialized care. Dr. Walter Chlysta, a general surgeon with Unity Health Network, is our cover story. In 2002, Dr. Chlysta performed the first minimally invasive bariatric surgery in Summit County. Since then, he has performed more than 1,000 suc- cessful cases, while ensuring patients are prepared before and after what is usually a life-altering surgery. Dr. Curtis Noel, an orthopaedic surgeon with Crystal Clinic, is also spotlighted in this issue. Dr. Noel has paired his passion for healing with technology – utilizing GPS to perform a "virtual" shoulder replacement on each patient before stepping into the operating room. Pretty neat! Speaking of technology, in our Business Section we continue to emphasize the importance of implementing a cybersecurity program for your healthcare practice. We also explore HIPA A's Privacy Rule in regard to disclosing protected health information (PHI) without patients' authorization in opioid abuse cases. In another interesting article, the question 'Can your existing employees compete against you while they are still on the payroll?' is posed. The answer may surprise you. We think you'll find these, and all of the articles in this issue of MD News, educational and maybe even enlighten- ing. Thanks for reading. Ted DiFiore
