Kathmandu's Connect Smart Pack, MSRP $350, has an integrated "Joey" smart unit that connects to smart- phones via its app for portable power, security, and travel conveniences. The Joey has a Dual Charge Mode that allows for simultaneous charging of the unit and a device. The pack itself features a light, breathable harness and a molded back panel to retain shape and provide additional protection. Internal organi- zation compartments manage multiple charging cables. Bags with Personality Ease of use, comfort and customization are also traits consumers are seeking. New brand LocoMödiv, launched by Seattle Sports, has a line of customizable performance packs, bags and duffles. Customization comes via the brand's Uniloop technology that allows users to switch out silicone straps, handles and pads as a way to individualize luggage. All LocoMödiv bags come with black straps. Customers have the option to add some color by purchasing additional straps. MSRP $44.95-$64.95 (silicone replacement straps, MSRP $7.95). "We created LocoMödiv and its pat- ented system to offer customers bags with a real difference: swappable silicone straps that offer comfort, stand-out design and the opportunity to personal- ize your bag," says Mike Moore, CEO and founder of LocoMödiv. "From school colors to your favorite color combination, we make it easy for users to carry a super comfortable and unique pack that truly suits their style and can morph again in two minutes or less." Seattle Sports' LocoDry DownUnder ZipDuff 60L/90L is a backpack and duffel combo. Featuring the Uniloop system – users can remove and replace the handles and shoulder straps – the bag, MSRP $175-$185, is made with a heavy-duty PVC-free material, welded seams and a waterproof zipper. The YLE Roll Pack 25 by RMU, MSRP $139.99, has a wide-mouth rolltop and full height zipper, for easy access. Harness pockets allow quick access to snacks or sunscreen. The front exterior pockets are for a phone or hard drives, with a fleece lining in one. An insu- lated bottle pocket, stowable waistbelt, aluminum hardware, weatherproof construction and interior organizer round out the features list. Mystery Ranch's simple, retro-styled Street Zen (MSRP $119) and Robo Flip (MSRP $99) packs are hybrid packs with urban flair and technical mountain fabrics. The brand combines style with a background in tactical and technical outdoor design. The bags offer smart and intuitive access and TPU coatings make them a good fit as urban pack options. Travel in Style DaKine's Concourse Messenger Pack is a multi-carry bag for daily commutes and overnight trips. The slim design fits tight spaces while boasting 20L capac- ity to maximize contents and carry options. The daily carry – featuring a separate compartment with neoprene laptop sleeve, neoprene tablet sleeve and multiple organizer pockets – converts to an overnight travel bag through the split level design that includes a hidden hanging panel. Fjallraven's Norrvage collection of bags includes a foldsack, MSRP $200, and a briefpack, MSRP $190. Made from recycled wool fabric with detailing in natural-tone leather, the Norrvage series features everyday bags with the brand's classic and timeless urban appeal. The Norrvage Foldsack has an inside zippered pocket, one open sleeve com- partment and a laptop sleeve (up to 15 inches). The Norrvage Briefpack can be carried by hand or as a backpack. The new Transporter Packs from Osprey offer clean, modern aesthetics, durability, water resistance and Osprey's signature carry. Available in Zip, Roll Top and Flap, MSRP $120-$130, the TPU double coated nylon gear is built to withstand the rigors of travel and inclement weather.
