Central New York 05-820 PUBLISHER from the Thank you very much for reading the March/April edition of MD News. Once again, we examine the world-class health care available right here in Central New York. In this issue, our cover story features Crouse Medica l Practice Cardiology. Backed by the advanced capabilities of one of the region's leading cardiac care destinations, and with a nearly 40-year reputation for providing outstanding, patient-centered care, Crouse Medical Practice Cardiology is transforming heart care in Central New York. Established in the early 1980s, what is now Crouse Medical Practice Cardiology gradually grew from a single-physician organization to one of the largest and most diverse cardiology practices in the region. Featuring 12 cardiologists with expertise in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, nuclear cardiology, congenital heart disease and heart failure, among others, as well as four nurse practitioners, the Crouse Medical Practice Cardiology team is a blend of clinicians with decades of experience in the field and those who have completed their training more recently. All clinicians, however, bring new treatment techniques to the organization. Our special feature focuses on the cancer care program at Oneida Health. The care team at Oneida Health brings cancer care to Central New York through a partnership with Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center — the region's only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Prior to Oneida Healthcare partnering with Roswell Park, individuals in Central New York often had to endure long commutes to larger cities to access advanced cancer treatments and new technologies. When the state released an innovation grant a few years ago, Oneida Healthcare found an opportunity to partner with a renowned Comprehensive Cancer Center, which expanded the oncology services offered in Oneida and beyond and afforded patients the ability to receive more cancer care locally — near family, friends, work and home. Once again, I would like to thank all those who come together to create our magazine. Here at MD News, we are dedicated to delivering an engaging reader experience, one with real local relevance. In each issue, we highlight distinguished and accomplished physicians and practice groups. We also provide updates on the latest medical studies, pointers for managing your practice and a unique look at what is happening in the local medical community. We love to receive nominations for our cover stories, current news within your organization and feedback on articles. I would also like to suggest that you visit mdnews.com to discover a wonderful resource for healthcare marketing. We are here to serve the physician and healthcare community.
