Long Island 05-848 PUBLISHER from the ............................................... Dan Senkiw PUBLISHER Long Island ............................................... dansenkiw@ lexmediagroup.com 914-967-6565 ............................................... @MDNewsMetroNY Greetings, and welcome to the April issue of MD News Long Island. The Sports Medicine Program at St. Charles Hospital is committed to providing a high level of care to youth and professional athletes, as well as weekend warriors, with comprehensive, leading-edge services from clinicians who understand the unique needs and goals of those who play sports. Through the use of the ThinkSMART!™ Concussion Management Program and ImPACT® screenings, clinicians can get a sense of student athletes' baseline neurocognitive abilities, such as reaction time and information recall — ideally, before a sport season begins. Certain men with prostate cancer gain a surviva l benefit from undergoing radica l prostatectomy and radiation therapy as compared with radiation therapy and androgen deprivation therapy, researchers have found. Our clinical section on men's health delves into the study. Another article in this section looks at a significant drop in testosterone therapy following research and FDA alerts about potential health risks. We have a roundup of additional news about men's health as well. Leverage MD News' multiple platforms to share informa- tion about your organization's capabilities and advanced technologies with referring physicians. Contact me at 914-967-6565, @MDNewsMetroNY or dansenkiw@ lexmediagroup.com. All the best, Dan Senkiw
