We coached Sids heart back to health. Last year, 79-year old Sid Dambrot collapsed from sudden cardiac arrest. His heart stopped beating so long, he had only a 2% chance of a full recovery. They rushed him to Summa said his son Keith Dambrot, head coach of The University of Akron basketball team. The cardiac team lowered his body temperature to protect his brain. 28 days later, he came out of the coma. His recovery has been astonishing. Later, a Summa electrophysiologist implanted a defibrillator in Sids chest to prevent future heart rhythm problems. If we didnt have the level of sophistication that Summa has, my dad wouldnt be here today. Thats more than healthcare. Thats smartcare. To watch the rest sm of Sids story, visit summahealth.org/CoachD. Summa CardiovaSCular inStitute
