Hel l o, ph y sician s and he alt hc ar e c ommuni t y of Minnesota! Welcome to MD News. We have an exciting issue to share with you! This month, we were fortunate to cover a variety of topics and speak with experts in numerous areas of health care. Our features cover spine care, reproductive medicine, digital medicine and legal services for patients dealing with cancer. We start with our cover story on Twin Cities Spine Center, which now uses the Mazor X, a robotic-assisted surgical system that combines preoperative planning and intraoperative guidance to help surgeons perform operations for individuals needing spinal instrumentation for fixation or stabilization. This is fascinating technology that you should know about. The sensitive topic of reproductive medicine deserves attention, as infertility is a complex condition that pervades all aspects of a patient's life. The Center for Reproductive Medicine shares how its compassionate, evidence-based fertility services for all individuals and couples looking to conceive propel reproductive care forward. Next we spoke with University of Minnesota Health and Fairview Health Services on how they are advancing cancer care with digital medicine. Read about how the use of digital medicine in oncology gives patients more control over the common oral chemotherapy process and their medica l caregivers deeper insight into patients' health and compliance with treatment — all for the sake of improving outcomes. Finally, our story about Cancer Legal Care shows the organization's passion, dedication and willingness to help those facing financial, legal and other practical difficul- ties related to a cancer diagnosis. Whether a patient is a teenager who expects to make the varsity softball team as a freshman, a PhD candidate preparing to defend his dissertation, a young physician who lives next door or a grandmother who lives down the street, Cancer Legal Care provides excellent services.
