No Excuses SPRING HAS SPRUNG, and the weather is warming; but when your joints hurt, you still might be tempted to stay on the couch catching your favorite shows. There's never been a better time to get outside and get active. + Start slow. Talk to your physician about the best activities if you're new to ļ¬tness or thinking of starting a particular exercise regimen. Otherwise, invest in a pedometer and try to reach at least 10,000 steps every day of the week. Meet your goal by taking the stairs, parking farther away when you go grocery shopping, or playing with your grandchildren at the park. + Get medical attention for troubling pains. If you're experiencing pain all the time, you should be evaluated by a specialist to see if pain medicine or physical therapy could decrease the aching or burning in your back, knees, or shoulders.
