ELIZABETH CAMPUS OF MVHS ATTAINS ACCREDITATION AS A CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY The St. Elizabeth Campus of Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS), has achieved accreditation as a Center of E xcellence in Or thopedic Surger y by Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). A Center of E xcellence in Or thopedic Surger y accreditation distinguishes the St. Elizabeth Campus from many other hospitals by providing the highest qual - it y of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation. Status as an accredited Center of E xcellence in Or thopedic Surger y means that the St. Elizabeth Campus, along with John P. Sullivan, MD, or thopedic surgeon and Andrew B. Wickline, MD, or thopedic surgeon and Total Joint medical director at the St. Elizabeth Campus, have met nationally recognized-standards. "The program was identified as having zero deficiencies and was noted to be a top per forming program nationally," says Darlene Stromstad, FACHE, President / CEO of MVHS. "Congratulations to all involved, this is a great win for MVHS as well as the communit y." Healthcare organizations and surgeons seeking accreditation by SRC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site inspection. This process includes physi - cians, nurses and administrators who are actively involved in the accredited pro- gram. The inspection is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization or surgeon improve its care and ser vices. n 2 2❱❱❱❱❱ M E D I C A L B R I E F S
