Greetings, and welcome to MD News San Antonio. The CDC reports that in Texas, almost 12,000 men each year learn that they have prostate cancer. The vast majority of these men will survive — the five-year survival rate for all stages of prostate cancer is about 98%, according to the American Cancer Society — but that doesn't mean the diagnosis and treatment processes come without challenges. The information they learned about the long-term health complications of having Type 2 diabetes as a child is shocking. Many physicians who see declining revenue in their practices might look to offer ancil- lary medical services as a way to provide additional services to existing patients while also increasing their roster of new patients.
