AACREDITUNION.ORG | 5 FICO's new credit score formula The way the Fair Isaac Corporation calculates its widely used FICO credit scores has changed. The main take-away is that credit scores will generally be higher for people who already have good scores and fi nancial habits. Consumers with lower scores who tend to rely on debt more will likely see lower scores. Money podcasts for 2020 With more than 900,000 podcasts in the ether, fi nding one that makes money matters interesting is easy. Here are three that are sure to help you reach your fi nancial goals and conquer your money challenges this year. So Money. Personal fi nance expert Furnish Torabi covers money management basics in a casual format that incorporates her and her guests' real-life fi nancial experiences. ❷ The Dave Ramsey Show. Known for giving it to people straight, Ramsey helps listeners create an actionable plan for getting ahead and chipping away at debt. ❸ The Disciplined Investor. Speaking to experienced investors and newbies alike, Andrew Horowitz discusses economic recession, monetary policy, current trading trends and other timely topics. — B.M. FICO scores generally range from 300 to 850. Higher scores usually mean consumers can get better interest rates on loans as well as pay less for insurance, among other benefi ts. The FICO credit score is just one of several scores from diff erent sources that may be used by lenders and other businesses to evaluate consumers' creditworthiness. The free monthly credit score update available to American Airlines Federal Credit Union members comes from another source, TransUnion, which hasn't announced major changes to its formula. However, an individual consumer's score may change from time to time due to minor tweaks in the way scores are calculated, which provider of the score is used as well as developments in the consumer's credit history. — Mark Henricks
