"Our Seventh A nnua l Boston Design Week was scheduled to take place March 25 through April 5, but the entire festival of 80 events had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 crisis," comments co-producer Tony Fusco. "We are undertaking this 'Fall Season' as a way of thanking everyone who supported Design Week. Our goal is also to help boost the design-related businesses and nonprofit orga n i zat ion s a nd school i n B ost on , a nd t o creat e a sen se of community again." Launch Virtual "Fall Season" of Events T he " Fa l l S e a s on" w i l l c on si s t a l mo s t ent i r e ly of v i r t u a l design events, although live events will be allowed as long as they conform to the city and state requirements in place at the time regarding security and safety, audience size and socia l distanc- ing requirements. In addition to inviting back those businesses and organizations that had registered for the spring Design Week, the "Fall Season" is open to any design-related business or nonprofit in the greater Boston area and beyond. " It a l lows us to inv ite desig n-related businesses a ny where to pa r ticipate without having to travel to Boston. We have a lready spoken to some nationa lly recog nized desig ners who a re eager to pa r ticipate through Zoom, Google Meet, Facebook Live a nd other platforms." Reg istration fees for events do apply, but the producers a re keepi ng t hose a s low a s possible.
