Greetings, physicians and other healthcare leaders,
and welcome to the Long Island edition of
MD News.
This month, we speak with urologic surgeons at White
Plains Hospital, where robotic surgery technology was
established in 2005. The surgeons, each with extensive
experience in his or her field, use the da Vinci Xi surgical
systems. White Plains Hospital specializes in minimally
invasive procedures related to men's health, as well as
serving the community for pediatric urology needs.
Treatment is also offered for cancers and reconstructive
surgery.
Our clinical section on radiology explores the new
world of augmented reality, and how the use of QR-coded
stickers can help turn images into holograms. A separate
article discusses a new ultrasound imaging technology
called Caption AI, which expands availability to more
patients and healthcare professionals.
See pages 12–13 for my address to the New York
communities about their perseverance in fighting
COVID-19.
