POWERED BY www.mesh01.com Is walking a part of your daily fitness routine? Do you have specific footwear you use for walking? Have you ever purchased recovery footwear? In the summer months, what is your preferred type of footwear? If you chose sandals, do you wear socks with them? YES Boots Boat Shoes Other Running Shoes Sneakers Sandals NO I have never heard of recovery footwear 17% 36% 25% 20% 8% 2% 0% 45% 47% If yes, was the analysis suggested by the store associate as part of their customer service experience? If yes, does that influence your brand purchasing decision? When you shop for footwear at a brick & mortar specialty store, do you have your gait analyzed? Have you ever had specific shoes or a shoe brand recommended to you by a podiatrist? Yes, it was suggested by the store associate YES No, I asked to have my gait analyzed NO 73% 83% 27% 17% When you shop for footwear at your brick and mortar specialty store, do you seek out a certified pedorthist for advice? YES NO 10% 90% Only one store around me fits you to the shoe. Wish more did. Female 30 I don't think anyone working at a store has this level of knowledge. Female 46 I do some research online/ask opinions- but certified advice would be most helpful. Female 31 Never heard of a pedorthist. Female 31 The stores I shop at do not offer such services. Female 56 All of the associates in my running store are trained to watch you run and make recommendations based on your gait. Female 37 I do research and rely on online reviews even when buying at brick and mortar. Male 47 I do shop specialty when possible for most of my purchases. I have enough knowledge that I can usually tell if the associate is inexperienced. I tend to web research many purchases first. Good shops get my repeat business. Male 49 Never knew they had them at the store. Male 36 Most pedorthists I have met take too much of a kinesiopathological approach - i.e. identifying "faulty" mechanics that lead to an issue or blame the mechanics for an issue that may not have been caused by mechanics. Male 32 I fear their advice is always some sort of orthotics to fix the symptoms rather than considering the underlying problem. "If you're only tool is a hammer everything looks like a nail." Male 53 No in summer, yes when it gets cold. Female 30 No self-respecting Floridian would do such a thing... : ) Male 45 Really? Male 48 Fashion faux pas!!! Female 48 Socks + Sandals = No go. Female 38 Only on rare occasions, usually while camping. Female 35 Ewww, never!!!!
