NEOMED PArTNers wiTh MiAMi u N ORTHEAST OHIO MEDICAL University (NEOMED) and Miami University of Ohio have aligned to create the MiamiNEOMED Baccalaureate to MD Pathway Program that will focus on identifying and recruiting academically-qualified students in Ohio who wish to pursue a career as a physician specializing in primary care or serving medically underserved populations. The focus of the Pathway Program is strategically aligned with the mission of both universities, including NEOMED's commitment to primary care, medically underserved populations and diversity in health care. Both institutions will work to make pre-college experiences available to potential middle school and high school students through several existing and newly created opportunities at NEOMED and Miami. "The addition of Miami to our cadre of partnerships will surely enrich the NEOMED community as we begin to work together to actively facilitate the Pathway Program," says Jay A. Gershen, DDS, PhD, NEOMED President. It is anticipated that the program will yield up to five students per year beginning in fall of 2014.
