Orthopaedic surgeons
by robert Janek
AS
THE DEMAND fOR
orthopaedic services
grows throughout
Northeast Ohio, so,
too, does Crystal Clinic Inc. Established in
1989 by eight physicians in the Montrose
area of Akron, the group now includes
39 musculoskeletal specialists in 10 locations, including Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson,
Kent, Medina, Barberton, Wadsworth,
Green, Streetsboro and downtown Akron.
"In the past year or so, we've added
four new orthopaedic surgeons, and
in August we'll add two more," says
Thomas J. (T.J.) Reilly, Jr., MD, President
of Crystal Clinic.
The six newest recruits include
Drs. Jonathan Kase, Jovan Laskovski,
Daniel Myer, Kyle Nelman, Erin Dean,
and Ra fael Stachowicz. A ll grew
up in Northeast Ohio, and all but
one — Dr. Stachowicz — completed
their residency training at Summa
Health System in Akron, the home of
Crystal Clinic.
"That's been the secret of our success.
We train them at Summa, so we get to
watch them for five years and can kind
of hand pick the ones we think are the
best," says Dr. Reilly. "And then luckily,
because this is a great place to practice
and live, we're able to get them to come
back and stay here."
