from the Publisher W July issue of MD News Greater Boston. This issue is packed with articles designed to further the operational and clinical goals of your practice. E LCOM E TO TH E Michael Jones PUBLISHER This month's cover story is about Southcoast Urology, a practice recently formed when Urology, Inc., a private Greater Boston urology practice in Fall River, joined Southcoast Health MJONES@MDNEWS.COM System. The group provides state-of-the-art urologic care, 508-888-1502 implementing the latest advancements, including robotic surgery, laser surgery for prostate and kidney stone disease, and new technologies for the treatment of incontinence. The story fits in well with this month's special clinical section, which focuses on men's health, offering fresh perspective to the debate on prostate-specific antigen based screenings. We also examine a new study that proposes prostatectomy may produce better long-term results than radiotherapy among patients with localized prostate cancer. In addition, our That's News section on Page 13 follows up this discussion by spotlighting three pertinent prostate cancer-related studies. The men's health theme also appears in our special feature on Lowell General Hospital. While the focus of the story is cancer care — and, specifically, radiation therapy — the team approach exhibited by radiation oncologist Matthew Katz, MD, and urologist Matthew Cohen, MD, is key in the treatment of prostate cancer in the Lowell area. As always, thanks to everyone who has helped us put these stories together. We are starting to firm up our editorial calendar for 2014, so if you have a story you would like us to feature, do let us know. Finally, this is the time of year we typically start working on our fall special issue. This year, it will be The CEOs of Health Care and will focus on the view of the industry from the executive suite. It's an ideal (and unique) opportunity for top executives to share their views of where the industry is headed and shape the role their organizations are likely to play in that evolving landscape. Our special issue is the only one we publish each year that reaches the entire Massachusetts market so it really does offer a wonderful opportunity for your CEO to lead the conversation in a way that reflects most positively on your organization. Let's chat sooner rather than later if your CEO would like to be featured. This, of course, is inaccurate, as Southcoast Health System is also a not-for-profit community-based health system based in southeastern Massachusetts. We regret the error.
