50 50 | M I D D L E AT L A N T I C Growing up in Ontario, Canada, Paul had the most incredible playground just out his doorstep with over 250,000 lakes to paddle and fish, 340 provincial parks to explore, and vast miles of crown land to traverse to wild places only few dare to venture. From these roots and a family that embraced the wilderness and outdoor lifestyle, his love for land and all that it taught him was cultivated. "I began to understand we each connect to ground in some personal way. Some to venture, some to farm, some to explore and some to recharge" said Vaicunas. As a boy and young man, Paul hung alongside his father fishing, grouse hunting, duck hunting, and mastered orienteering coursing through remote places with him. As he grew older, the pursuit for big game and adventure hunts to Alaska, the Artic circle, the Prairies, the Rocky Mountains, the Midwest, and eastern hardwoods fed an appetite to see more and know more about big deer and wild places. "I had a desire to pursue a college education in fish and wildlife biology, which led to a career in the hunting and archery industry working with the largest sporting goods merchants and manufacturers in the industry." With almost 30 years of senior executive experience and a passion for land and wildlife, when the opportunity to join Whitetail Properties as a part of their expansion in the northeast presented itself, Paul knew it was where he was meant to be. "A career as a land specialist was the natural next evolution of my education, career and goals to blend business and biology together to continue to help people enjoy the great outdoors and become a landowner. " "In my new role I am blessed to present some of the best, richest, fertile and scenic properties in Western New York. Our state has so much to offer with such a diverse landscape. Most think of New York as New York City. However, we have two of the five great lakes on our north shore, the Allegheny and Adirondack Mountains, are currently the third largest dairy state, second largest apple producer, and the third largest wine producer in the country. All while boasting a thriving deer and turkey population with a freshwater fishery of inland lakes and rivers." "I work hard to provide an authentic and genuine presentation of the land, its highest and best attributes, and show our clients the current highlights and potential future improvements for them to imagine and reach their own goals in becoming a landowner." It is an honorable responsibility to be chosen and trusted to market and sell a piece of land for a seller, which may be a home with a lifetime of memories raising a family or a harbor of hunting traditions. It is equally personal to be asked to find land for a new buyer, and a process that I carry proudly. This is where I belong, serving people and sharing all I know as a land specialist."
