How Positive Shopping Behaviors Are Holding Up Post Pandemic C onsumers are not only keeping pace with their pandemic fitness routines, but are staying on trend in other positive ways as well. is survey reveals that shoppers are upgrading exercise apparel and footwear, are interested in trying a new performance material and are swayed by a label that promotes a product's sustainability. In addition, consumers remain focused on antimicrobial protection even as Covid restrictions recede. For example, 42 percent of survey takers said they would be "very likely" to purchase fabrics with antimicrobial protection and 90 percent of respondents believe that brands should highlight products with antimicrobial protection properties. Similarly, concern for wellness is on the upswing. When participants were asked "Are you more likely to buy clothing and footwear made with materials focused on wellness," a whopping 73 percent said "Yes." Lastly, oen it is the case that shoppers say they will likely buy sustainable products, when in actuality they mostly don't. However, that attitude appears to be shiing as brands and textile suppliers look for new ways to engage consumers. For example, 72 percent of survey respondents said a sustainability rating on a label of a garment or shoe would be a selling point.
