Imagine loading your truck with your hunting gear to hit the road for your very first hunting trip of the season with your longtime friends. The best part? You're headed to hunt on your own piece of land. That's exactly what Jason Miller, a 50-year-old Floridian, will be doing come this September with his buddies from high school, or as he refers to them, "just a bunch of boys from Florida." For the past 15 years, they've been hunting White-tail deer in Missouri, but after they lost access to their hunting getaway due to the land changing hands, they decided to roll the dice and buy some ground of their own, according to Jason. After finding a piece of land for sale through Whitetail Properties, Jason was directed to Rural 1 st , a lender specializing in rural land loans. Back in June, he purchased his first piece of land, a 200-acre property that stretches Pope and Johnson counties in Illinois. "It was my first go at [working with Rural 1 st ]. We always talked about owning our own property one day and finally that day had come around. There's a lot of hesitations — it's a lot of money and a big investment, but Rural 1 st made the [financing] experience wonderful," said Jason. Rural 1 st is an expert in rural lending with over 100 years of experience and with Rural 1 st , discussing your finances to get pre-qualified for a land loan isn't the typical headache you think of when working with a lender. They pride themselves in managing your loan from start to finish and will always be there when you need them. According to Jason, Rural 1 st Loan Ocer Taryn Wolf was not only helpful, but energetic. "I could tell I was good in hands, and I say that now because I don't really have a history with them. In 5 to 10 years I can look back and say the experience was 100% accurate. They were who they seemed to be. If I do another transaction, I will be giving them a call." And if the hunting season is good this year, Jason might be making that call sooner rather than later. He says if the land is fruitful to their hunting needs, they'd think about building it out, and luckily for him, Rural 1 st oers more than just rural land loans. They also oer tailored lending options for construction, home, lot, and home equity loans — so you can finance your rural living dreams all in one place.
