O ur closets and travel bags are full of too many shoes. This overproduction/overconsumption adds to the depletion of natural resources and speeds up the rate of pollution entering our air, water, and land. Making footwear with better material choices is a good first step, but making fewer shoes is the best solution. There is a need to create more thoughtfully designed footwear and we need to create less of it. The All-Dai shoe, by Munjoi, is as clever as can be and does precisely that. Four in One By simply removing the foam insole and placing over the desired heel or toe portions – you can have a sneaker, a sandal, a mule, or an open-toe sneaker. "The multifunctional All-Dai shoe is stripped down to the bare essentials of only what is needed and nothing more. The goal was to not overdesign or embellish with any extra unnecessary bells and whistles. The minimal 3-piece upper is machine knitted to the almost exact shape of each piece, leaving very little waste," says Munjoi founder, and industry veteran footwear designer, Patrick Hogan. Plant-Based and Animal Cruelty-Free Munjoi takes it even further by choosing to use plant- based, animal cruelty-free materials like cotton and hemp in their knitted uppers – as well as a plant- based EVA combining algae waste and sugarcane for the foam cushioning. Pack less and leave a light footprint with these super comfy, convertible shoes. The All-Dai retails for $98 and is currently available in 3 stock colors: Black Sea, Natural, and Sedona. More Spring-Summer colors will be available early 2023.
