POWERED BY What is the biggest stumbling block to buying more sustainably-made apparel and footwear? It's not high-tech The materials used are not as comfortable I have no stumbling block I am skeptical of the sustainability claims made by the brands It costs more 4% 10% 17% 26% 43% When you purchase apparel or footwear online, how much environmental consideration do you give to the added packaging and delivery aspects prior to and after making the purchase? After the purchase online, if you decide to return the item, what do you think happens to your item(s)? NO consideration SOME consideration STRONG consideration 25% 56% 19% Landfill? Outlet? Female 40 It goes out with the next order. Female 56 ose items go to the same place as lost socks. Female 33 It is quality checked and re-boxed for a new sale. Female 24 I hope they resell them. I would be upset if they were trashed. Female 33 Sold in a third world country for pennies on the dollar. Male 47 I'm guessing it gets recycled into other products. Female 49 Most likely thrown away or destroyed. Male 42 If the item has never been used, I assume that it can be inspected and resold. Male 37 Probably thrown away. Female 24 It goes back to the distributor. Female 30 I know over 90% goes to the dump. We are a throw-away society and it needs to stop. Female 48 I figure they just get cleaned up and resold. Male 50 Returned to stock or dumped in a warehouse to be trashed at a later date. Female 35 If you saw an article with the headline,"Your Yoga Pants Are Ruining The Envrironment,"would you: Dismiss the story as silly Have no Interest in the topic Read the story with interest 14% 14% 18% 24% 68% 62% n 2021 n 2023 For sure read but check the facts and source. Male 57 I know the amount of water that goes into making one t-shirt, so it would be interesting to know more about clothes production and its impact on the environment. Female 32 I always read these articles and then decide if its hype/marketing or if the article makes sensible points. Female 58 I would read it out of curiosity how my pants could possibly ruin the world.. however I would see the article as very dramatic. If I like the pants I would still buy them. If I did not like the pants I may go to another company just because I did not like the product. Female 53 I would read the article but also acknowledge that many items are doing the same thing. Female 33 But would still wear my pants! Female 43 at is a hilarious headline and I'd want to know why and how. Female 41 ere would have to be believable evidence in the article to hold my interest. Male 35 I would scan the article to see what sources were used. Male 41 While definitely a clickbait type headline, I would be interested in seeing what the article is saying. Male 23 As absolutely ridiculous. e actual science does not support any notion of that. Male 42 Not a huge fan of clickbait titles personally, but I would read the story! Male 31 I would dismiss the article, I take good pride in picking my products and using them until they die, so I don't believe it. Female 25 Yoga pants are destroying our culture AND the environment. Everyone could use a bit more modesty. Jeepers. Put some clothes on. Male 41 It really depends on what media source is promoting the article. Female 32 I always think about it but compromise if I really want or need the item.
