of construction includes all permitting, logistics, material purchases and deliveries, coordination of specialty trades, inspections, and guidance for owner selection of fixtures and finishes. And with the use of an online portal and mobile app where all decisions, schedules, budgets and communications with all parties involved take place, the construction process can finally be fun and enjoyable! At the root of any design is the creator's vision, characterized by a set of priorities and values. It may not be readily identifiable in the architect's blueprints, but after speaking candidly with Vahe, it's evident that every concept and detail is suffused with gratitude. And at the heart of this gratitude is the struggle through which his family migrated from his birthplace, war-torn Beirut, Lebanon, to the United States when he was age 9. "I remember as a kid, while my father was disabled from accidents and my mother was barely making minimum wage, they took me and my three sisters to a McDonald's, and my mother told us years later that she spent all she had that day and didn't know how she was going to feed us the rest of the week, but somehow she did!" he recalled. In terms of family guidance for his career, there wasn't a single person in the field of architecture, engineering or construction in the huge extended family to learn from. But he committed to his studies, and now, after his education and 30-plus years in the architectural field, Vahe is still fascinated by its lure. Moreover, he is grateful for the series of life events that led him to this place in his career and in his personal journey. His pursuit of knowledge can be likened to peeling an onion. As he masters one area, he peels away another layer, New lighting and Velux windows show the bright new contemporary interior. 2 2 |  BOSTON.BUILDERARCHITECT.COM Builder+Architect GREATER BOSTON, CAPE COD AND THE ISLANDS COVER FEATURE
