W rightenberry Hosiery Mills was founded by Aileen and E.B. Wrightenberr y in 1948. The company started by reselling irregulars before moving into finishing for larger mills in 1967. In 1989 Joey Wrightenberry (Current President) joined the company and Wrightenberry Mills began the process of purchasing their first knitting machines. The next year Wrightsock became the brand name for Wrightenberry Mills and began production of the double layer sock (blister free). The new double layer design very quickly started selling into the running and outdoor market ensuring Wrightsock would become a mainstay for anyone looking for blister prevention methods. Joey's sister Sabrina (Current Vice President) joined the company in 1995. In 2019, the company started making efforts regarding sustainability and as of 2020 all our styles are made with sustainable yarns. In late 2021 and early 2022 siblings Nicholas and Katelyn Wrightenberry joined the family company, marking the 4th generation for Wrightenberry Mills.
