FINISH LINE / CONSUMER SURVEY 58 runstyle Spring 2024 runstylemag.com e shoes are most essential, without foot comfort and performance, the run is ruined. Male 57 Sunglasses and shoes!! Male 25 Shoes followed by chafe protection. Male 33 Shoes and socks. Followed by shorts/ underwear. Male 37 Shoes with the proper insoles. Male 46 Most important apparel is socks. I hate when I'm out for a run and my socks are slipping off. Male 41 I would rank footwear as number one most important, reflective gear for early morning running as number two most important and apparel with warmth in mind. Male 39 Must be the shoes. Everything begins with your feet and if you aren't comfortable or have issues then the whole run will be challenging. Male 35 Footwear would be my most important item next to belt with water bottle and pockets to hold phone keys, followed by apparel. Male 38 Gloves. If it's 50 or under I need gloves. Male 50 Shoes have to be dialed in. I am willing to put up with poor design choices to a certain extent on everything else, but I will not compromise on shoes. Male 41 Shoes and socks. If my feet aren't happy, the run is never gonna be enjoyable. Male 41 Socks. Shorts and wind breaker. Male 30 e most important items for my run are shoes, a watch, shorts, headphones, sunglasses if it is sunny out. Male 31 Shoes, then pants/shorts, then shirt. Socks can also make or break a good run. Other items add to comfort and style such as a hat (I love a good 5 panel cap), beanie, gloves, etc. Male 40 Shirt because I need it to have wicking material for sweat. Male 41 Shoes. By far. Second is socks. en shorts and shirt. I build the whole thing around the shoes. Male 37 Footwear. Hands down. Nothing ends a run faster than foot pain or a blister forming. Socks play a big role as well, but a good pair of running shoes is paramount. Male 33 n THE MUST-HAVE ITEMS FOR MALE RUNNERS We asked more than 300 male runners, "Head-to-toe in your running wardrobe (apparel/footwear/gear), which item is the most important item for your run?"
