In our latest consumer survey, we asked 340 men and women, ages 18-60, what types of footwear they plan to buy this coming season, and we also asked specically about their preferences when it comes to sneakers. Running shoes are the runaway favorite when it comes to what type of footwear consumers said they look forward to purchasing this Fall and Winter, with 73% on the hunt for running shoes. Hiking shoes/boots (55%) and casual/comfort shoes (49%) were the next most popular answers. And these consumers overwhelmingly told us that they wear sneakers or athletic shoes for casual wear every day (71%). As for the price they said they would be willing to pay for sneak-ers for casual wear, 49% said $50-$100, followed by 30% who said $100-$150. More than a quarter of respondents said they have 6 or more pairs of sneakers in their closet. With so many color options available in casual and performance sneakers, it is interest- ing to note that 61% of respondents told us they prefer black or white sneakers, with 14% say-ing they prefer a bright color sneaker. Similarly, for the sole of the sneaker, 67% prefer black or white soles, with 10% telling us they opt for a bright colored sole. ■ This survey conducted by MESH01 included 340 respondents, men and women who are "active and outdoorsy.
