At Whitetail Properties we love what we do because we love land, and we love our clients. Of course, it is a little easier for us to love our clients because they are also very passionate about land and the great outdoors. We have seven core values. Core value number seven says "we exist to always take the high road, regardless of its steepness." Taking the high road is not exclusive to Whitetail Properties; it should be practiced by every business, every consumer, every human being. There are many scriptures in the bible that support this core value. My favorite is, Exodus 14:14: "The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest." There will always be critics, haters, and dishonesty, but they cannot steal our peace or productivity if we take the high road. We are less motivated and distracted when we spend time worrying about what people are thinking, saying, or doing. There's always somebody that wants to hurt us. But instead of fighting back, we kill them with kindness. While they're attacking us, they're not focused, they're not working, they're not taking care of their business or clients. Have you ever seen crows attack eagles? It's called mobbing. They peck at the eagle's head from behind. But rather than fighting back, the eagle takes the high road. He focuses on flying higher. An eagle can easily reach 10,000 feet without even trying. At 6,500 feet, the crows will run out of oxygen and pass out in flight. Have you ever noticed that when your performance raises the bar, the ones who crawl under it will try to discredit your business and your accomplishments? Taking the high road allows you to tune out the noise and focus on serving others in need. Eventually, the bar will be so high that the haters will also run out of oxygen. At Whitetail Properties, we understand that distractions and fighting each other does not promote relationships, build a business that will weather all storms or uphold the mission of our service focused culture. This highroad culture starts at the top and is mentored, taught and trained to the entire organization, regardless of an employee's titles or duties. Conversely, the low road is a frustrating road to nowhere. Too many people are driven by their need to be right. They are cursed by their ego rather than blessed by humility. Too many businesses are possessed by retribution rather than compassion. I have many successful highroad stories. And I don't regret any concessions I've made to keep peace and help my clients and customers. However, I regret every single time in my life that frustration, stubbornness and ignorance prevented me from taking the high road. For us, there is nothing more gratifying than helping our clients find that perfect slice of heaven on earth while staying true to who we are and the core values that have paved the road for our business.
