Aris Teleradiology: hybrid solutions for hospitals M by robert Janek oST SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSES are born when someone identifies a need and takes the initiative to address it. So it was with Aris Teleradiology. Located in Hudson, Aris was established in 2007, initially to address the shortage of diagnostic radiologists in Northeast Ohio. "Aris was the brainchild of an Akron area healthcare system president who needed a deeper bench of radiologists during nights, weekends and peak workflow periods, to meet the needs of a growing healthcare system," says Carl Kozlowski, President/CEO of Aris. "As we grew to meet that partner's needs, we created a unique company capable of scaling to fulfill the needs of other hospital systems across Ohio and surrounding states — with on-site as well as off-site services." Today, Aris' footprint is nationwide with more than 130 clients in 31 states. Its services have grown, too, from basic teleradiology back-up services to a unique hybrid combination of both on-site and off-site general and subspecialty radiology services. Incorporated through all is a quality assurance (QA) program that's unrivaled in the professional radiology services industry. From Basics to Hybrid Diagnostic radiology is utilized for almost every hospital inpatient and emergency room patient. This requires the availability of a radiologist around the clock.
