U
NIvErSITY HoSPITALS Ear, Nose
& Throat Institute celebrated its
second anniversary in October,
and Dr. Cliff Megerian could not
be more proud. Dr. Megerian is Director
of the UH ENT Institute; Chairman of
the Department of Otolaryngology, UH
Case Medical Center; and the Richard and
Patricia Pogue Endowed Chair Professor
of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck
Surgery, Case Western Reserve University
School of Medicine.
"The Institute has grown in a
number of ways," he says. "It's grown
in volume. It's grown in outreach in
terms of the number of clinical sites
from which we deliver care. But the
most important part is the people.
We've had really a remarkable expansion of people in the past two years."
Six new physicians, including two
new pediatric otolaryngologists, have
joined the Institute's staff. In addition, UH's ENT residency program
was given permission to increase its
residents' numbers to four per year.
"This is, in part, due to the Institute's
increased volume and new educational
opportunities for our trainees under
the ever-increasing expertise of our
physicians," says Dr. Megerian.
The UH ENT Institute is comprised
of nine centers of excellence:

+ Center for Skull Base Diseases
