Dr. Malone replaces longtime President Bob Harrigan who retired from Summa Health System on October 1. Prior to joining Summa Health System, Dr. Malone was President/CEO of Harper University & Hutzel Women's Hospital, a 560-bed academic medical center affiliated with Wayne State University. He also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer there. Other previous leadership positions include President/CEO of Children's Choice of Michigan, a mission-driven managed healthcare system for children with special needs, and President/CEO of Physician Directed Care, a physician organization offering contracting and medical management services. Dr. Malone received his undergraduate degree from John Carroll University and his medical degree from The Ohio State University. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Columbus Children's Hospital and a perinatal-neonatal fellowship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. His MBA degree was received from Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana.
