HopeHealth CEO Spearheads
Growth and the Addition of
New Programs
By Christopher Cheney
HopeHealth has roots in hospice care on Cape
Cod, but over the past five years, the Hyannisbased healthcare provider has branched out to
offer a range of serious-illness services throughout
eastern Massachusetts.
In addition to hospice care in any setting from
home to nursing home, assisted living facility or
hospital, HopeHealth offers Hope HouseCalls
home-based primary care; Hope Dementia
and Alzheimer's Services; Hope Care for Kids,
specialized pediatric bereavement, counseling,
hospice and palliative care services; and Hope
Community Care, which features individual
and group bereavement and counseling services
for anyone.
David Rehm, President and CEO of
HopeHealth, says several of these services have
been introduced during the past three years
and that a serious-illness management program
is in development. The Brown University and
Simmons College School of Social Work graduate
says HopeHealth is adapting 30 years of hospice
experience to work with a larger population
of patients.
"We would like to become known as a coordinated solution to anyone facing serious illness,"
says Rehm, who joined HopeHealth in 2008.
"They can just call Hope, and our staff can put
together all services to meet a patient's needs and
avoid unnecessary costs to the healthcare system."
