Pinnacle Health CEO
Sees Opportunity in New
Patient-Centered World
P
seen a lot of
changes in the healthcare landscape since its beginnings in 1997,
but few have been as dynamic as
those taking place right now. Founder and
CEO Paul Brough is excited about the new
emphasis in the federal healthcare law on
putting the patient at the center of the
healthcare process.
Brough's extensive background in managed care organizations, HMOs and health
insurance, coupled with knowledge gleaned
from the two startup companies he has
launched, has provided him with the experience and expertise to adeptly manage and
administer Pinnacle Health.
Pinnacle has a network of more than 3,000
providers in Massachusetts contracted at
reasonable fee schedules, providing value to
self-funded employers who utilize Pinnacle's
network and administrative services.
In 2006, Brough developed the Pinnacle
Preferred Providers program, which emphasized high-quality, cost-effective providers.
Priority is placed on long-term relationships
that provide mutual benefit to all parties,
and most especially to the patient.
The program has been used successfully by
a risk-bearing entity to help manage quality
and costs for its insurance risk contracts,
