WELCOME TO THE NEW UHS.NET Welcome to the new UHS.net, an exciting, innovative website for today's healthcare consumer. This site is designed to provide online visitors with a great viewing experience to match the great healthcare experience offered at UHS' facilities. This site offers visitors a wealth of infor- mation about UHS' hospitals, home-care agencies, physician practices, long-term care services and health education resources, and connects job-hunters with the latest career openings across the system. The site uses responsive design, a method that automatically tailors its screen size to the type of device the visitor is using, such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. "Today it's vitally important for patients, patients' family members and residents of our community to have easy, immediate access to healthcare information, and to have that access from wherever they are," says Matthew J. Salanger, President and CEO of UHS. "Our new website helps us meet that goal." The new uhs.net features provider, loca- tion and service directories to the entire UHS system, a wait-time indicator, an extensive calendar of events, and an expanded career section. The site's clean, clear design and easy navigation make it easier than ever for visi- tors to find the specific program, service, facility, provider or source of information they are seeking. Visitors also can quickly perform such tasks as requesting an appointment, paying a hospital bill, recognizing an employee for outstanding care, ordering a gift for a patient or seeing a picture of a family member's new baby. In developing the site, UHS worked with Geonetric, an Iowa-based Web development company that specializes in creating innovative sites for hospitals, doctors' offices and clinics. Geonetric's recent innovations include VitalSite, the content management system that makes it possible for the UHS site to deliver the healthcare information visitors need on any computer or Web-enabled device. ■
