C O M 914-967-6565 E L C O M E T O T H E June issue of MD Ne ws Mid Hudson, and thanks for making the magazine a regular part of your reading agenda. A common passion among physicians is to make a difference for patients, wherever the need exists. Here in the Hudson Valley region, physicians at Orange Regional Medical Center are making all the difference for patients with lung cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women. The Lung Cancer Program at Orange Regional Medical Center's Spagnoli Family Cancer Center, led by Cleveland Lewis, MD, Medical Director Lung Cancer Disease Management team, provides comprehensive and customized care. The program goes far beyond treating symptoms of the illness by offering complimentary therapies to address the needs of the whole person. In every issue, we seek to bring you the latest news from the local medical industry, as well as insight into emerging research and trends on the national front. This month, we feature cognitive research suggesting that the placebo effect may be even stronger than we know. It seems the "power of positive thinking" is formidable in the healthcare realm. Your thoughts, as always, are welcome. Feel free to reach out to me at 914-967-6565 or dansenkiw@mdnews.com to discuss article ideas for future issues.
