Corporate communica- tions manager Gregory Zurawik led a com- mittee of hospital staff that helped create the new website. “All of the site maintenance and updates will now be handled internally, so we will have the ability to add/remove pages and update content as frequently as needed,” says Zurawik. The new website is not just an update, but a total rebuilding. “We started from scratch based on feed- back from patients and physicians, among others, and what they wanted included,” says Zurawik. “We fo- cused fi rst on what we call our areas of medical excellence, which contain all our service pages. This is where you’ll fi nd information on our orthopedic program and Sleep Center, for example: contact informa- tion, what they do and what to expect.” Basic informa- Saint Francis Hospital and Health Centers’ new website provides everything visitors and patients need to know. 20 | Mid Hudson MD NEWS  MDNEWS.COM tion like visiting hours and direc- tions are more eas- ily accessible, prov- ing visitors and patients everything they need to know. The Bon Secours Charity Health System (BSCHS), recently launched the Rider Alert Card Program — an initiative to help save the lives of motorcyclists or reduce the severity of their injuries after an accident. The free program provides motorcyclists with a decal to stick on the outside of their helmets and a waterproof information card to insert between the helmet’s lining and shell. The goal is to instruct bystanders to leave the injured rider’s helmet on to prevent additional head or neck trauma and to aid emergency medical services about motorcyclists’ allergies, existing medical conditions and emergency contacts. Bon Secours Charity Health System is dis- tributing the cards and decals through Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern N.Y., and its two hospitals in Orange County, Bon Secours Com- munity Hospital in Port Jervis and St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick.
