Interconnectivity is a rather com- mon term these days, especially in relation to electronic health records and the health care industry as a whole. This month, we delve into the world of connectivity — specifi cally that of our region and industry. Designated a regional health information orga- nization (RHIO) by the New York State Department of Health, LIPIX has implemented a secure, technical infrastructure and policy framework to facilitate the widespread sharing of medical information through interconnectivity.
